The Penns Valley Area Rams have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They walked away with a 35-25 win over Central Mountain on Monday. That's another feather in the cap for Penns Valley Area, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Penns Valley Area was led to victory by Kayla Hopkins and Ellie Romig. Hopkins scored four points along with five assists, while Romig scored 11 points along with seven rebounds. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for her.
Penns Valley Area's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Central Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Penns Valley Area is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Bald Eagle Area at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. Bald Eagle Area is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for Central Mountain, they will head out on the road to face off against Jersey Shore at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Jersey Shore presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Central Mountain in Pennsylvania (Jersey Shore is ranked 139th, while Central Mountain is ranked 338th).
