The Liberty Lions can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Pittsburg a 3-0 shutout. Liberty's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four games.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Payton Hoover and
Kami Regas, who scored all three of Liberty's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 19 so far this season.
Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4-3 record this season. As for Pittsburg, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will take on Heritage at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Heritage will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Liberty surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pittsburg, they will head out on the road to square off against Antioch at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pittsburg's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
