After a string of three wins, the Franklin County Seahawks's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell to Chipley 69-65. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Franklin County in their matchups with Chipley: they've now lost four in a row.
Sadiq Jones and Ethan Kembro certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Jones scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Kembro scored 25 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. That was a full 38.5% of Franklin County's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Lonnie O'Neal, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Franklin County's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Chipley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-9 record this season.
Franklin County will head out on the road to take on Bozeman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bozeman presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Franklin County in Florida (Bozeman is ranked 194th, while Franklin County is ranked 391st). As for Chipley, they will be playing at home against Vernon at 6:45 p.m. on Friday.
