The Hammond Tornadoes lost against the Denham Springs Yellowjackets back in December of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Hammond fell just short of Denham Springs by a score of 53-51. Hammond has not had much luck with Denham Springs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Trendan Spears and Charles Armstrong certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Spears scored 15 points along with four steals, while Armstrong scored 14 points along with seven assists. The contest was Armstrong's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Joseph Carbo was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Hammond's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Denham Springs, they pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Hammond's road trip will continue as they head out to face Franklinton at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for Denham Springs, they will be playing at home against Istrouma at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Istrouma will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 267th, while Denham Springs is ranked 54th).
