The Lassen Grizzlies's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They fell 51-43 to Yreka. Lassen found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 16 to 7 on offense.
Kinley Somerville and Brook Medovitch certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Somerville scored 15 points along with four steals, while Medovitch scored 13 points along with six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mili Crosno, who scored eight points along with four steals.
It was another big night for Alexes Collier, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds for Yreka. That makes it three consecutive games in which Collier has scored at least a third of Yreka's points. Another player making a difference was Emmie Freitas, who scored eight points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Lassen has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Yreka, their win bumped their record up to 12-14.
Lassen will head out on the road to take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Valley has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11. As for Yreka, they will play host again and welcome the Cubs, where tip off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Anderson will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
