Basketball Recap: Piedmont Classical Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Piedmont Classical lost against Winston-Salem Prep back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Piedmont Classical Bobcats fell to the Winston-Salem Prep Phoenix 40-35. The match marked the Bobcats' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Piedmont Classical still got an impressive performance from Jalen Ferrell, who posted ten points along with eight boards and three steals. Ferrell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Colby Carter, who had nine points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Winston-Salem Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hahsasah Simmons, who put up 11 points. Jace Covington was another key player, putting up ten points.

Piedmont Classical's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9. As for Winston-Salem Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-3.

When Piedmont Classical and Winston-Salem Prep next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Piedmont Classical will try to stop Bishop McGuinness' eight-game winning streak when the meet at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Piedmont Classical will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Similarly, Winston-Salem Prep will challenge College Prep & Leadership Academy and their six-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Piedmont Classical is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season.
