When it comes to explaining why El Dorado lost, one person who can't be blamed is Alana Schneider. Despite the final result, she scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. The match was Schneider's 11th in a row with at least ten points.
Calaveras' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ginger Scheidt led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Scheidt has scored at least 25% of Calaveras' points. Izzy Tapia was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
El Dorado's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Calaveras, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
El Dorado will finish 2023 at home by hosting Casa Roble at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Casa Roble is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. Calaveras and Vacaville will round out the year against one another at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Vacaville is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
