The Hesperia Scorpions were the  47-46 winner over the Burroughs Burros when they last played one another  back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Hesperia received a tough blow  on Friday as they fell  57-40 to Burroughs.
 Despite the  defeat, Hesperia had strong showings from  Berlynn Miramontes, who  scored 21 points along with four  steals, and  Chelsea Ortiz, who  scored 15 points along with six  rebounds and three  steals. Miramontes scored a full 52.5% of Hesperia's points, the third time in a row she's  earned more than a third of the team's points.
 Hesperia's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Burroughs,  the  win  makes it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 9-5.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hesperia will  challenge Apple Valley at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Burroughs, they will head out on the road to face off against Oak Hills at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. Oak Hills will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
