If the Rolling Hills Prep Huskies were feeling good off their 57-13 takedown of the Hawthorne Math & Science Academy The Aviators last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Rolling Hills Prep took a 69-54 bruising from Hart on Monday. While losing is never fun, Rolling Hills Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 328th, while Hart is ranked 82nd).
Despite the loss, Rolling Hills Prep still got an impressive performance from Mia Fernandez, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fernandez has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Regan Enright, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds.
Leading Hart to victory were Morgan Mack and Andrea Aina. Mack scored 20 points along with five rebounds, while Aina scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Janelle Boozer, who scored ten points along with six rebounds.
Rolling Hills Prep dropped their record down to 12-13 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Hart, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 20-5.
Rolling Hills Prep will head out on the road to challenge E at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. E comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last 11 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Hart, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Ranch at 5:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hart knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matchups -- so hopefully West Ranch likes a good challenge.
