Baseball Recap: Kingsburg's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Kingsburg had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Sanger Apaches by a score of 14-10. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vikings also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.

Eric Garcia made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Kingsburg let King Rodriquez and Jensen Hirschkorn run wild. Rodriquez scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Hirschkorn went 3-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. Rodriquez is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Gavin Ekizian, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Kingsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .523. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Kingsburg pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sanger, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingsburg will welcome El Diamante at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. El Diamante's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Kingsburg's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sanger, they will be playing at home against Selma at 3:30 p.m. on March 20th.
