Northwest came tearing into Friday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 62-56 victory over the Westminster Academy Crusaders. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Crusaders are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northwest pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for Westminster Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Northwest will welcome Bunkie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westminster Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-63 victory against Beau Chene on the 28th.
