Basketball Game Preview: Millennium Falcons vs. Denair Coyotes

The Millennium Falcons will challenge the Denair Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Millennium will be strutting in after a win while Denair will be coming in after a defeat.

While Millennium didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-14), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against Waterford by a score of 33-20 two weeks ago.

Sarah Digiallonardo continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 18 rebounds. She has been hot, having posted ten or more rebounds the last five times she's played. Ashley Rutiaga was another key player, putting up six points.

Millennium smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Denair was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 34-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Turlock Christian.

Millennium has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.4 points per game. As for Denair, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Millennium didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Denair in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 53-48 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Denair's Cloey Ellerd, who posted 23 points.
