The Herscher Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Beecher Bobcats at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Herscher barely beat Watseka the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Warriors on Wednesday. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.
Brock Berns was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Tanner Jones was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Another player making a difference was Gaige Brown, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Meanwhile, Beecher waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They never let the Dragons get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory.
The team relied heavily on Tyler Doran, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Chasten Clegg also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Beecher always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Herscher's record now sits at 17-7. As for Beecher, their record is now 13-7.
Herscher was able to grind out a solid win over Beecher in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, winning 4-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
