The Glastonbury Guardians will venture away from home to square off against the East Hartford Hornets at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Glastonbury gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 10-5 win over Bristol Eastern. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Guardians.

Lauren Meehan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Emily Thompson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Taylor Page also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Glastonbury was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. The last time their batting average was this high was back in May of 2024.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for East Hartford, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Farmington with a sharp 17-8 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the River Hawks: they've now won three in a row.
Like Glastonbury, East Hartford also got a great game from a two-way player: Izzy Brito. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and four unearned) runs off 13 hits (and only one walk). Brito was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kaylee Hernandez was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with seven stolen bases and two runs. Those seven stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kolbie Cumento, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.
Glastonbury's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-6. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for East Hartford, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
