Softball Recap: North Gwinnett Finds Playoff Glory Versus Newton

With a playoff win on the line, North Gwinnett rose to the challenge on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Newton Rams a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Bulldogs have won 17 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was North Gwinnett's eighth in a row) raised their record to 28-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Newton, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-15.

As of now, neither North Gwinnett nor the Rams have any future games scheduled.
