The Punxsutawney Chucks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 25 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Bradford on Friday as Punxsutawney made off with a 57-32 win. Punxsutawney's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Leading Punxsutawney to victory were Danielle Griebel and Avary Powell. Griebel dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 assists, while Powell scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Griebel posted eight or more assists. Riley Doverspike was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Punxsutawney's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Bradford, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Punxsutawney will be home for the holidays to greet Clarion Area at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Clarion Area will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 340th, while Punxsutawney is ranked 33rd). Bradford will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oil City at 7:15 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
