Baseball Game Preview: Landmark Christian War Eagles vs. Galloway Scots

Landmark Christian is a perfect 5-0 against Galloway since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Landmark Christian will host Galloway at 5:30 p.m. Landmark Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.

On Monday, Landmark Christian didn't have quite enough to beat Whitefield Academy and fell 6-4. That's two games in a row now that the War Eagles have lost by exactly two runs.

Taylor Casson was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Landmark Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 2-8 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Eberhart, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Galloway's offense. They came up short against Walker on Monday, falling 15-0. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Scots were not able to get on the board.

Galloway has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. Landmark Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9.

Galloway's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Tuesday. Landmark Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Galloway, though, as they've been averaging only 2.9 strikeouts. Will Landmark Christian keep running through batters, or will Galloway buck the trend?

Landmark Christian skirted past Galloway 8-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2019. Will Landmark Christian repeat their success, or does Galloway has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
