The Green Hope Falcons will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Middle Creek Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Green Hope focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
Green Hope pushed their score all the way to 69, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 80-69 to Cary. Even though they lost, Green Hope's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.9 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Despite the loss, Green Hope had strong showings from Justin Jackson, who scored 17 points along with two steals, and Grayson Cuffe, who scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jackson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Joof, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three blocks.
Even though they lost, Green Hope smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Middle Creek posted their biggest win since December 12, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 62-42 margin over Cary. The victory was just what Middle Creek needed coming off of a 68-42 defeat in their prior game.
Green Hope has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Middle Creek, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Green Hope suffered a grim 74-52 defeat to Middle Creek when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Green Hope avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
