Lower Moreland is 6-1 against Cheltenham since February of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Lower Moreland Lions will head out on the road to square off against the Cheltenham Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Lower Moreland will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Even though Lower Moreland has not done well against Upper Moreland recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lower Moreland enjoyed a cozy 45-31 victory over Upper Moreland.
Lower Moreland's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mollie Martin led the charge by scoring seven points along with four steals. Briana Mcferran was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Cheltenham came up short against New Hope-Solebury on Tuesday and fell 51-41. Cheltenham has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lower Moreland pushed their record up to 11-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Cheltenham, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
Lower Moreland was able to grind out a solid win over Cheltenham in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, winning 66-54. Does Lower Moreland have another victory up their sleeve, or will Cheltenham turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
