Softball Recap: Marriotts Ridge's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

Marriotts Ridge came out on top against Atholton on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. Marriotts Ridge put the hurt on Atholton with a sharp 12-6 victory. Marriotts Ridge might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.

Sienna Williams made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Marriotts Ridge got a massive performance out of Mackenzie Tasch, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave Tasch a new career-high. Leah Kim was another key player, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs and one RBI.

Marriotts Ridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .532. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Atholton only posted an OBP of .333.

The win snapped Marriotts Ridge's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-6 record. As for Atholton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8-1.

Coincidentally, Marriotts Ridge and Atholton will both be playing Hammond the next time they take the field. Atholton will head out to face Hammond at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while Marriotts Ridge will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
