The Cornerstone Christian Cougars entered their tilt with the Rocklin Thunder with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cornerstone Christian came out on top against Rocklin by a score of 61-53 on Saturday.
Cornerstone Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mecca Alexander led the charge by scoring 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zakara Cooper, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Cornerstone Christian has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. As for Rocklin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-10.
Cornerstone Christian will be playing in front of their home fans against California School for the Deaf at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. California School for the Deaf has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Rocklin on the road again on Tuesday and play against Oak Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Oak Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rocklin in California (Oak Ridge is ranked 18th, while Rocklin is ranked 222nd).
