The Pocomoke Warriors waltzed into Monday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 64-57 victory over Washington. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Pocomoke found their leader in underclassman Michael Ames, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. The match was Ames' third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zymiere Walker, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Pocomoke's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-0. As for Washington, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-2.
Pocomoke will head out on the road to face off against Crisfield at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Crisfield and Pocomoke are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Washington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Decatur at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Decatur focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday.
