The Middletown Blue Raiders fought the good fight in their overtime match against the Northeastern Bobcats on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bobcats by a score of 52-49. Middletown lost against Northeastern in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-44 score last time.
Northeastern was led to victory by Emma Bush and Mikayla Coleman. Bush scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 blocks, while Coleman scored 16 points along with 8 assists. The game was Coleman's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Nylah Davis, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Middletown's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Northeastern, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Camp Hill at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for Northeastern, they will be playing at home against Red Land at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
