Video: Top 10 Games of the Week(22) Eastside Catholic (Sammamish, Wash.) vs. Bellevue (Wash.)
Friday, 7:30 p.m. Pacific timeWhy it's big: Bellevue shoots for its 13th state championship against the team that ended its run of six consecutive titles last year.
In fact, No. 22 Eastside Catholic (12-0) is the only Washington team to defeat Bellevue since Skyline (Sammamish) accomplished the feat in September of 2010. The Crusaders ended Bellevue's state-record 67-game winning streak in the 2014 Class 3A title game.
Bellevue (11-1) is unbeaten since a 35-7 loss to No. 3 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas) in its season opener. The Wolverines have won the rest of their games by an average score of 45-10.
Names to watch: Cornell-committed quarterback
Harley Kirsch's 3,351 passing yards rank second only to five-star prospect Jacob Eason of Lake Washington in the state of Washington. The Eastside Catholic senior has 34 touchdown passes and only two interceptions.
Matt Laris, a California commit, leads the Eastside Catholic receiving corps with 60 receptions.
Bellevue is expected to have four seniors sign letters of intent with Pac-12 colleges in February. The group includes four-star running back
Isaiah Gilchrist (Washington) and three-star defensive end
Isaac Garcia (Oregon State).
