Westchester Country Day has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Gaston Day Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, Westchester Country Day came up short against Calvary Day School and fell 62-53. Westchester Country Day has not had much luck with Calvary Day School recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Meanwhile, Gaston Day pushed their score all the way to 69 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 81-69 hit to the loss column at the hands of Concord Academy.
Despite the defeat, Gaston Day got a solid performance out of Deshawn Coulter, who scored 26 points. Coulter set a new season high mark in points with 26. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Fields, who scored 12 points.
Westchester Country Day has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Gaston Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Westchester Country Day took a serious blow against Gaston Day in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 67-40. Can Westchester Country Day avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
