The Ventura Cougars entered their tilt with the Santa Barbara Dons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Ventura simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Santa Barbara 71-22 on the road. With Ventura ahead 38-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Ventura was led to victory by Kailee Staniland and Skyler Knight. Staniland scored 15 points along with six assists and three steals, while Knight scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Moore, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Ventura has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Santa Barbara, they bumped their record down to 3-11 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season.
Ventura will take on Buena at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Buena is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Santa Barbara, they will head out on the road to square off against San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Marcos presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Santa Barbara in California (San Marcos is ranked 230th, while Santa Barbara is ranked 727th).
