Baseball Recap: Granite Bay Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Granite Bay was forced to take a big loss against Jesuit on Tuesday, they got the better of them on Thursday. The Grizzlies walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Marauders. This was a revenge game for the Grizzlies: when they faced off against the Marauders on Tuesday, they had to take a 13-3 defeat.

Granite Bay gave Ian Brooks the start and clearly made the right call: he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Brooks has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Granite Bay let Isaac Schroeder and Derek Asnicar run wild. Schroeder went 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run, while Asnicar went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most RBI Asnicar has posted since back in February.

With the win, Granite Bay broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 16-11. As for Jesuit, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-11.

Looking ahead, Granite Bay will be playing in front of their home fans against West Park at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Grizzlies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. Jesuit does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
