The Rider Raiders lost against the Saginaw Rough Riders back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Rider took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Saginaw. While losing is never fun, Rider can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 650th, while Saginaw is ranked 128th).
Rider lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Caiden Reed, who scored 17 points. Reed hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Gavin Aday was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Rider's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-15. As for Saginaw, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 21-5.
Rider will be playing at home against Aledo at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Aledo and Rider are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Saginaw, they will head out on the road to challenge Northwest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
