Balboa is 0-10 against Washington since February of 2020 but things could change on Wednesday. The Buccaneers will host the Eagles at 3:30 p.m. Balboa will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Balboa is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Mission with a sharp 13-3 win last Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Bears: they've now won three in a row.

Nick Gwinn was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off three hits. Gwinn was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Balboa let Trent Wiley and Richard Rodas run wild. Wiley got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Rodas went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Rodas a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Santiago Narvaez, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.
Balboa was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Washington didn't have quite enough to beat Palo Verde Valley on Thursday and fell 5-4.
Kiefer Hollands was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. Those doubles were his first of the season.
The win was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-9. As for Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Balboa has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Washington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Balboa suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Washington when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Will the Buccaneers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
