Clay County is on a four-game streak of home losses, Hoover a five-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Clay County Panthers will take on the Hoover Huskies at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Clay County is ranked 108th, while Hoover is ranked 103rd).
On January 5th, things could have been worse for Clay County, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-23 loss to Charleston Catholic. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Clay County has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Hoover earned a 45-34 victory over Elk Valley Christian on Thursday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Hoover has managed all season.
Hoover found their leader in underclassman Ayva Veltri, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natilee Hill, who scored 12 points.
Clay County's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Hoover, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.
