West Virginia High School Basketball - Hoover can't hold off Clay County
January 23, 2024: Clay, WV 25043 The Clay County Panthers basketball team scored 37 points and restricted the visiting Hoover Huskies to 36 in the Panthers non-league victory on Tuesday.
The Panthers now sport a 1-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Webster County for a Little Kanawha - East contest on Wednesday, January 24. Clay County will battle a Highlanders team coming off a 67-36 league loss to Roane County (Spencer, WV). The Highlanders record now stands at 1-6.
The Huskies (2-10) will now prepare for their contest against Scott (Madison, WV). The Skyhawks come into the Cardinal contest with a 5-8 record. In their last contest, Scott was nudged by Logan (Logan, WV), 65-56, in a league contest.
