It was a good run, but the High Plains Storm unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Cross County, falling 58-17. High Plains has not had much luck with Cross County recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, High Plains struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Cross County racked up 19 assists.
Cross County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Bricelynn Larson out in front who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Shyanne Anderson was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds.
High Plains' defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Cross County, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 16-1.
High Plains and Dorchester will face off at 3:00 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Dorchester's defense has only allowed 28.1 points per game this season, so High Plains' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Cross County, Cross County and McCool Junction will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. McCool Junction is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
