The Cathedral Phantoms will be taking part in a tournament against the San Marino Titans at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Cathedral: 3.2, San Marino: 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Cathedral had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 13-run drubbing they dealt Alhambra on Tuesday. Cathedral put the hurt on Alhambra with a sharp 14-1 victory. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Phantoms this season.

| 02/22/25 @ South Pasadena | 2 |
| 02/17/25 vs Hoover | 1 |
J.D. Rojo looked comfortable as he pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Victor Galvez was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathan Leal, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Cathedral was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, San Marino is still undefeated this season after their game against Verdugo Hills on Tuesday, but Verdugo Hills came as close as anyone has to beating them. San Marino never let Verdugo Hills get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Titans have posted since April 18, 2024.
Not much got past JJ Wilson, who gave up just five hits to keep Verdugo Hills off the board. Furthermore, Wilson didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Parker Wilson was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one triple and two RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
San Marino pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 runs over those games. As for Cathedral, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.
Everything went Cathedral's way against San Marino when the teams last played back in March of 2021, as Cathedral made off with an 11-0 win. Will Cathedral repeat their success, or does San Marino have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
