Softball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Kearney Catholic

Kearney Catholic waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They blew past the Auburn Bulldogs 12-2. The Stars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 23 games by six runs or more this season.

Raegan Ruyle made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Pfeiffer Adkisson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in September. Another player making a difference was Kynlee Ruyle, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Kearney Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in five consecutive contests.

Kearney Catholic's record now sits at 26-5. As for Auburn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 18-12.

Kearney Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
