Summit has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Western Christian Fighting Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Summit took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 73-40 victory over Jurupa Hills. That 73-40 margin sets a new team best for Summit this season.
Meanwhile, Western Christian didn't have too much trouble with Pomona at home on Friday as they won 61-43. Given Western Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 433rd, while Pomona is ranked 871st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Western Christian can attribute much of their success to Dj Harris, who scored 15 points, and Brian Wallace, who scored 17 points. The contest was Harris' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was JJ Hooper, who scored eight points.
Summit pushed their record up to 7-9 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points per game. As for Western Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
