The Loma Linda Academy Roadrunners will square off against the Redlands Adventist Academy Bulldogs at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Loma Linda Academy beat Mesa Grande Academy 5-1. The Roadrunners haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Meanwhile, Redlands Adventist Academy waltzed into their contest on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They were the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over the Eagles. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.
Ryan Powers and Drew Lauer were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Powers tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Lauer tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five). At the plate, Powers scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Lauer scored a run while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Andrew Karpenko and Carter Kerstetter did most of the damage at the plate: Karpenko scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-2, while Kerstetter scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Kerstetter a new career-high in runs. Noah Gatling was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Redlands Adventist Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive matches.
Redlands Adventist Academy pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Loma Linda Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.
