The Millersburg Indians have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 50-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Williams Valley on Wednesday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Millersburg came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 136th, while Williams Valley is ranked 401st).
Several Indians players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Emma Miller, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 17 rebounds. Miller hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for nine straight games. Jana Strait was another key contributor, scoring six points along with eight assists and six steals.
Millersburg's loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Williams Valley, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Millersburg won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tri-Valley at 1:00 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Tri-Valley is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Williams Valley won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Upper Dauphin Area at 5:00 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Hopefully Upper Dauphin Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
