St. Pius X fell victim to Fredericktown and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Black Cats, falling 15-0. The Lancers have struggled against the Black Cats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Hermann entered their tilt with South Callaway on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won five contests by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Taylor Carver was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in September of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Hermann got a massive performance out of Kimber Hale, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits Hale has posted since back in September of 2024. Another player making a difference was Delilah Nobel, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Hermann kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive games.
St. Pius X's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Hermann, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
