Newton scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost to the Andover Trojans on the road by a 42-27 margin. The defeat continues a trend for the Railroaders in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost four in a row.

Newton's loss came despite strong showings from Kolbie Espada and Landyn Rains. Espada rushed for 45 yards and a pair of TDs, while Rains picked up 84 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Newton's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Andover, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Newton will take on Hutchinson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Andover, they are taking a road trip to face off against Salina Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs' defense has only allowed 13.3 points per game this season, so the Trojans' offense will have their work cut out for them.
