Washington's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kaprice Johnson, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds, and Olivia Woods, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That's the first time this season that Johnson scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Shawnti Fuller, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Brownsville has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 21 points or more this season. They blew past California 61-40. Given Brownsville's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while California is ranked 370th), the result on Monday wasn't entirely unexpected.
