The West Vikings waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins but they left with three. They enjoyed a cozy 46-31 win over South. Given West's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 420th, while South is ranked 1072nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Caleigh Adams continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with nine rebounds and six blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Iyanna King mathews was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
West is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for South, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
West will be playing in front of their home fans against Golden Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North at 6:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
