The Mountain Empire Redhawks lost against the Foothills Christian Knights back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The matchup between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Mountain Empire falling 34-18. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Mountain Empire still got an impressive performance from Carli McGhee, who scored nine points. McGhee scored a full 50% of Mountain Empire's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Mountain Empire's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Foothills Christian, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-5.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing High Tech NC the next time they take the court. Foothills Christian will host High Tech NC at 4:00 p.m. on January 4, 2024, while Mountain Empire will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
