The Math Civics & Sciences Mighty Elephants's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 58-44 to Paul Robeson. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Math Civics & Sciences in their matchups with Paul Robeson: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Math Civics & Sciences lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jabriyah Gibbs. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gibbs has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Saahiya Holloman, who scored ten points.
Ashley Robinson was her usual excellent self, scoring 49 points for Paul Robeson. That makes it ten consecutive games in which Robinson has scored at least a third of Paul Robeson's points.
Math Civics & Sciences now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Paul Robeson, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Math Civics & Sciences' road trip will continue as they head out to face Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech at 3:15 p.m. on January 29th. As for Paul Robeson, they will play host again and welcome Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush, where tip off is scheduled for 3:15 p.m. on Monday. Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last nine games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
