The Williams Yellowjackets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 11th straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 43-19 walloping at the hands of CORE Butte. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Williams of the 50-16 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the defeat, Williams saw an underclassman step up: Lupita Zuniga scored six points along with six rebounds and four blocks. Zuniga is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season.
Williams dropped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for CORE Butte, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-12.
Williams will look to defend their home court on Friday against Biggs at 6:00 p.m. Williams comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for CORE Butte, they will head out on the road to square off against Hamilton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hamilton will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something CORE Butte surely won't give up without a fight.
