Miami found their leader in sophomore Tamia Pietila, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and 13 rebounds. The match was Pietila's 15th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Olivia Chacon, who went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points along with eight boards and five steals.
Miami smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Santa Cruz Valley had to suffer through a 63-27 loss at the hands of Veritas Prep.
Miami will have to keep a close watch on Zaryah Bursey and Mionette Banda, a pair of players who had a big impact on Santa Cruz Valley's prior game. Bursey posted 11 points, while Banda scored eight points. Those eight points gave Banda a new career-high.
Miami pushed their record up to 24-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.4 points per game. As for Santa Cruz Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Miami hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 70.2 points per game. It's a different story for Santa Cruz Valley, though, as they've been averaging only 19.8 points. The only thing between Miami and another offensive beatdown is Santa Cruz Valley.
