The Georgetown Day Mighty Hoppers entered their tilt with the Madeira Snails with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Georgetown Day simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Madeira 64-37 at home. Given Georgetown Day's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked first in District of Columbia, while Madeira is ranked 195th in Virginia), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Madisyn Moore, who scored 22 points along with eight steals and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Roberson, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Georgetown Day is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Madeira, they dropped their record down to 4-5 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Georgetown Day will face off against St. Stephen's & St. Agnes at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. St. Stephen's & St. Agnes is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. Madeira will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Holton-Arms at 5:45 p.m. on January 30th.
