The Eastside Lions came tearing into Thursday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 78-56 margin over Antelope Valley. Eastside has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.
Eastside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dominique Burnett, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burnett has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mona Fajardo, who scored 16 points.
Despite the loss, Antelope Valley still got an impressive performance from Niya Price, who scored 32 points. That was a full 57.1% of Antelope Valley's points, marking the 13th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Lacei Brown was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Eastside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season. As for Antelope Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-3.
Eastside will head out on the road to take on Quartz Hill at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Quartz Hill is on a four-game streak of home wins, Eastside a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Antelope Valley will take on Highland at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
