The Anaheim Colonists entered their tilt with the Century Centurions with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Anaheim simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Century 73-20 on the road. Anaheim has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 matches by 20 points or more this season.
Anaheim's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Melody Cortes led the charge by scoring 14 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cortes has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lesli Dominquez, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
Anaheim pushed their record up to 21-1 with that win, which was their ninth straight on the road. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30 points. As for Century, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Anaheim will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Savanna at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. One thing working in Savanna's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests. As for Century, they will head out on the road to face off against Magnolia at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Magnolia presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Century in California (Magnolia is ranked 553rd, while Century is ranked 1207th).
