Everything went their way against the Sumter County Panthers on Friday as they made off with a 21-14 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Titans as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.
Devin Brooks made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in February.
In other batting news, Turner County got a massive performance out of Cedric Hillmon, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave Hillmon a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Camari Richardson, who scored three runs and stole four bases.
Turner County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .635. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
