Fergus gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They snuck past the Columbia Falls Wildcats with a 17-13 win. The Golden Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wildcats, too.

McKay Shobe threw for 85 yards and one TD. Madden Norslien was his top target, picking up 48 receiving yards.

Columbia Falls' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trip Ross, who rushed for 102 yards and one score. Ross also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack and making 12 total tackles. Easton Brooks also helped out with an impressive 117 receiving yards.

Coming up, Fergus will be playing at home against Custer County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Columbia Falls, they will head out to take on Frenchtown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
